I have always been fascinated by photography and photographers. Specially, people who are able to capture the beauty of the earth and share it with us. Photography has the ability to take us to places we have not traveled to, or see things we may never see. That ability to share something spectacular has poked me since I was young.
Nature and landscape photos have "spoke" to me since I picked up a coffee table book of Ansel Adams at a friend's house. I was blown away how someone could capture beauty with a black and white picture. From that moment I found myself often thinking, "that would make a great picture!" But years passed while I always admired others talents and gifts for the arts, I never followed the desire to do something about it.
That recently changed. With the youngest of five children graduating high school this spring and my recent marriage to an old friend I find myself with a little time on my hands and a supportive husband who encourages me to follow my dreams. This awesome combination has led to the beginning of this blog, the posting of some artwork on SOCIETY 6 and the beginning of classes to improve my skills as a fledgling photographer.
